Lethbridge Wool Depot

The Canadian Co-operative Wool Growers (CCWG) Lethbridge location proudly serves as a wool receiving depot for sheep producers across Southern Alberta and the surrounding region.

Producers can conveniently deliver their wool to our Lethbridge depot, where it is received and prepared for transport to our national wool grading facility in Carleton Place, Ontario. Once there, experienced wool graders carefully assess each clip for quality and prepare it for marketing through CCWG's established network of domestic and international buyers.

By using our depot system, producers benefit from a streamlined process without having to transport their wool across the country themselves. Our goal is to make wool marketing as convenient and efficient as possible while ensuring every producer has access to professional grading and competitive market opportunities.

Preparing Your Wool

To help ensure the best possible grading results, we recommend that wool be:

  • Packed in clean, approved wool bags.
  • Kept dry and protected from moisture.
  • Free from contaminants such as hay, straw, twine, or excessive vegetable matter.
  • Sorted by wool type or quality whenever practical.

If you are delivering a large quantity of wool, we recommend contacting our Lethbridge location in advance so our staff can assist with receiving and handling your shipment.
